December 20, 2010 - Medicare

Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 has now gone into effect and all insurers must report specific information about Medicare beneficiaries who have other insurance coverage.

Effective immediately, Star Casualty Insurance Company will be seeking information from our insured’s, and anyone claiming to be an insured under the policy, in an effort to satisfy our reporting requirements to Medicare. The information needed to satisfy our reporting requirements includes their Name, Date of Birth, Gender and Social Security Number.
